Our Story

It all started in Charles Village, Baltimore… during the first few weeks of lockdown, I was home from teaching with nothing to do but bake and draw. Deciding it was a great time to push my sourdough to even higher levels of hydration, I was baking way more bread than my partner and I could consume. Not wanting it to go to waste, I put a post on Nextdoor and wrapped up the breads on my front porch. Soon enough, more and more people wanted bread, and started to leave little offerings in exchange.

Within weeks, I was baking dozens of loaves of breads and making a variety of croissants and pastries, and my neighbors would bring butter and pantry items to use whenever they found them in the shops. Eventually, after collecting way more wine bottles than any human needs, we decided to start a little cottage business.

I ordered the finest flours from Janie’s Mill and started buying delicious Kerrygold butters to hand laminate our croissants. Our main mission is to create traditional, artisanal products, just like you could find in Paris. We never cut corners with cheaper materials and pre-made doughs, because at the end of the day, we want to eat our own pastries too!
